Biography

John Scully, a consensus All-American and captain of the 1980 Notre Dame football team, spent 10 years in the NFL with the Atlanta Falcons. John was active in the NFL Players Association, becoming familiar with professional sports contracts, collective bargaining, and was twice the player representative at NFL Competition Committee meetings.

After extensive, high profile careers in both the NFL and professional music production, John entered the insurance business providing a non-industry perspective to insurance strategies. With a baseline start in voluntary benefits, he quickly became acquainted with the fundamentals, mastery of which yielded very successful worksite implementations and record breaking sales numbers.

John was soon identified for next-plateau efforts in insurance, which resulted in his ascent to National Strategic Account Executive at corporate AIG. Given wide latitude to act, his efforts manifested not only in promoting multiple profit centers to top 50 brokers but also in coordinating the efforts of and mitigating differences between internal entities.

John’s further ventures with other top rated underwriting companies and on the production side with M Financial firms has enabled him to establish an enviable business network. Ever mindful that each top level encounter is a chance to learn, he has had first-hand exposure to some of the most advanced minds in business and has developed a penchant for creating strategic connections between those resources and others within his sphere.

John credits his successes largely to his ability in all things to listen, consider, and then act. A frequent motivational speaker, John prefers to economize his command of written and spoken thought in order to convey worthy and memorable ideas, and to do so in a way that is easy for both intellect and temperament to process. John is known for being an even-handed and optimistic problem-solver.
