Ray holds Civil Engineering and Law degrees from the University of Michigan. He is a registered professional engineer and licensed attorney in the State of Michigan. Ray started his career at an engineering consulting firm that eventually merged with an architectural firm to form Progressive AE. Beginning as an engineer, Ray became leader of 25 person civil engineer division within 7 years. He went on to serve as company Treasurer/CFO for 24 years, President/CEO for 12 years and Chairman of the Board for 10 years.
Under Ray’s guidance, Progressive AE grew from 40 people to a 175 person fully integrated firm offering mechanical, electrical, civil, architectural, interior design and construction management services for diverse commercial, institutional and governmental projects. Ray has deep experience with the full range of issues facing the design and construction fields and is very familiar with municipal development from his work on water and sewer projects. He is highly respected for his insight and compassion and for helping Progressive AE consistently rank among the top companies to work for in West Michigan.
